Supporting St John's University: Overview

St John’s needs your help! We are based in Dodoma, the capital of Tanzania. Tanzania is a rapidly growing Less Developed Country, with major economic challenges. The people in the Dodoma region face the special hardships that come from low rainfall and poor soils. Despite this, many value education and are willing to use what they have to give their children the best education they can afford.

In response to this need, St John’s was set up urgently to provide a quality tertiary education in a safe environment. It is still a very new University, in its early development stage, and has had to take out loans to cover development costs at high interest rates. By tight financial management it has been able to balance its books, but there is little scope for development. It therefore needs support for many things. For this reason a number of funding mechanisms have been set up, and these are listed below.
