The Directorate of Extension Education currently runs from two sites in Dodoma Town Centre. The Dodoma Town Centre is a St John’s University Teaching Center which operates under the Faculty of Commerce and Business Studies. The Centre was established in June 2009 and was officiated by the Vice Chancellor of St. John’s University of Tanzania Professor Manoris. V. Meshack on June 3, 2009.

Initially, the Centre was aimed to cater for societal needs in two areas. First to provide opportunities to those who have either time or qualification limitations in attending full time courses offered by universities and, secondly, to provide review classes for those vying for professional qualifications in Accountancy and Procurement and Supply professions of the National Board of Accountants and Auditors (NBAA) and the Procurement and Supplies Professionals and Technicians Board (PSPTB).

The Centre is currently running six regular courses which include a Certificate in Business Administration (CBA), Diploma in Business Administration (DBA), Certificate in Law (CL), Diploma in Law (DL), Bachelor of Business Studies (BBS), and a Postgraduate Diploma in Business Administration (PGDBA).
